“Second Life is an important, and often overlooked, aspect of social media marketing.” – Aliza Sherman, Second Life is Social Media

“Even in Second Life, where anything is possible—I wasn't really any different than I ever am.”- Joel Stein, My So-Called Second Life

I want you to know exactly who I am. No lies, no games. The little pixalated character wobbling from one place to another is me. She represents me as well as a computer graphic can. I have spent time learning just enough about the site to make her look exactly like me. Her friends are the kind of people I like and will probably meet one day. Even though I cannot see the people behind the avatars, I still trust my instincts to guide me. If everyone shares a goal, which is to talk to other people and make new friends, then the seemingly unlimited freedom of this site should not affect general rules of socializing. Maybe it makes me a little more outgoing, but I am essentially the same person online as I am in real life. Truth be told, I do not know how to be any different or see any reason to try. I know what I want out of Second Life.
