I think I understand the many reasons why someone would use the internet to connect with other people, but I just cannot do it. I have tried Second Life and it is so complicated. Meeting people in real life is just easier and safer. I am comfortable and happy with the people I already know and future friends may come along, maybe at work, school, or even in random places like the park. I feel more at ease when I can do something in a way that is familiar to me. I do not need Second Life or any other application. I have everything I need in the real world, but that is not to say that I am closed to the idea. Who knows? The next big application will come around and I might just try it.
